About Cary Kanno

The early 2000's saw Cary Kanno living the rock and roll lifestyle. His 2 rock and funk bands had gained local notoriety and he also embarked upon a successful solo career. In 2009 his life forever changed with the arrival of his 1st son. Soon car rides and recreational time was filled with the sounds of the "ABC song" and "Wheels on the Bus" instead of the next new great indie rock band. In 2012 his second son was born, and the family was complete (thus far). As his sons grew older and developed a more vocal and interactive relationship with music it became clear that a Cary Kanno children's album was destined to be created. In his son's words, they wanted to hear "da da's music". Inspiration for the album was pulled from his everyday experiences with his children (and they also served as the test market). The songs focus on dancing, fun, rhythm and education. All songs are original compositions, described as having a fun/ tropical vibe in the same vein as Jack Johnsons "Curious George Soundtrack" or Michael Franti and Spearhead.

Cary has opened for many well known acts including: Rusted Root, Booker T, The Gza, The Rza, Lyrics Born, Mr. Lif, Buckwheat Zydeco, Jean Gray, DJ Z-Trip, The Redwalls, Poi Dog Pondering, Eyedea, Andrew Bird, Bernie Worrell, Digable Planets, and many more. His songs have been featured on the ABC network, Kelloggs, WE Network, MTV, and Showtime.
